Oculus Rift: Step Into the Game

I would guess this is the place to put it since it is mainly for pc, but it does say mobile as well. Anyways, looking around on the kickstarter site, I fell in love with another project named Oculus Rift; which is the first Virtual Reality Helmet that would not be the cheapest, but by far the best design in which it just feels realistic.

I can already see myself just dying to use this and play games like minecraft, (singleplayer) CoD, Metro 2033, HL2, AMNESIA (I WOULD HAVE HEART ATTACK, if not already from using this for minecraft), Killing Floor (this would be possible, since Unreal Engine already has integration), ect!

Judging by the second video, this "home-made version costs $500 bucks", so considering if this can get mass produced, prices will be very interesting. And third video makes out 300~, so very VERY promising

It's already been confirmed that this will be compatible with the Ouya. I'm PUMPED

Yeah, the only thing is that people with glasses might have issues. It is times like this I am glad my glasses are needed only for reading (but still some games like fallout might be annoying trying to read some things). But I would bet they will come up with something that can work.

And do remember that the $300 price is then HAND-MAKING it, I am guessing (hoping ) that if they get it mass produced, it could be around the 150-200 range!

Semi-oldish news, but of course this works for tf2 now (as well gets you a GENUINE item if you bought it before a certain date). Aside from tf2, there is an unoffical version that works for minecraft as well:




I am tempted to just buy it now, but I am still worried that there could be small hardware changes that could affect playing certain games. (for example, I saw on installing it for tf2, that if you had some older model it would not work)
